POONCH, May 7: The dead body of a youth was recovered from the river near Gulpur in district Poonch today.
Identified as Umar Farooq (18 years), resident of Chandak, he was missing for the last five days. He had swept away in strong currents of the river water near his home in Chandak area. Since then, the Police party and locals of the area were constantly searching for him.
Today, some locals from Gulpur area informed the Police after spotting the body in shabby condition. The police informed his family members and they later identified it. It had swept some 12 kms from place of missing. The body was handed over to the family of the deceased for performing last rites after performing legal formalities by police.
