BMO among 2 arrested by SVO

JAMMU, Mar 16: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today arrested Dr Abdul Rashid Dar, the then Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kulgam and Mohammad Ashraf Parray, the then Senior Assistant/cashier in the same BMO office for their involvement in ullegal and unauthorized appointments of Class-IV employees and Junior Assistants at various Medical Blocks of Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
“The arrests were made today,’’ official sources said, adding that both the officials have been lodged in police station of the Vigilance Organization.
During investigations carried out by the Vigilance Organization, it was detected that Dr Dar and other officers and officials of Health Department in Anantnag and Kulgam districts had entered into conspiracy among themselves and with the beneficiaries during the period from 2003 to 2010.
They had misused their official position and allowed 22 persons to join in the Health Department in different blocks on the basis of fake and fabricated appointment and transfer orders.
They way, they had caused undue benefit to private persons and losses to the State exchequer, sources said.
