JAMMU, June 16: To celebrate the ‘Fathers Day’ and to promote the ‘duggar’ traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its 213th Saturday Series Musical Play ‘Sukhi Parivar’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production as part of its regular feature at Durga Bhawan, Janipur, here today.
The programe was inaugurated by the chief guest, VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, while Dr AC Bhagat, former Chief Officer Department of Animal Husbandry, J&K Government, RP Amla, Event Director, JK Raina, Freelance Producer/ Director Films were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that Fathers Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers and father figures make to the lives of their children, adding that this day celebrates fatherhood and male parenting. He lauded the role of BLSKS and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication.
The comedy skits, songs and dances present by the artists enthralled the audience on the occasion.
The Musical Play ‘Sukhi Parivar’ is written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS.
Speaking on the occasion, Dogra said that Fathers Day is celebrated in honour of Fathers and on this day people used to honour their fathers or the father like persons who have a great contribution and a huge impact in their lives.
Welcoming the dignitaries RP Amla, Event Director threw light on the aims and objectives of the programme. He highlighted the various aspects of play for mass awareness.
The singers, musicians, actors and students of music and computer institute who performed in the play were Usha Handoo, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal , Kuldeep Raj, Dhruv Pandit, Bindiya Arora, Sunil Kumar, Deevam Jandiyal, Vansh Raina, Megha Raina, Bhumika Chib, Sawan Koul, Azen Ali, Shiv Kumar, Uttam Singh, Diksha Jamwal, Rahul Raina and Ranjeet Shaw.
