JAMMU, Oct 17: As part of its Saturday series, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) today staged 72nd musical play “Maa Sheranwali” in collaboration with Unison Cultural Troupe, Sangam Tru Art Production and ESRM, at its office compound in Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu.
The programe was inaugurated by the chief guest, VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India. Written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, chairman, BLSKS, the play highlights the story of Maa Vaishnavi Devi.
The programme commenced with welcome song “Jai Jai Sheranwali “,presented by the artists of BLSKS.
The actors who performed in the play were Raju Bajgal, Usha Handoo, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Sant Das, Bodh Raj, Dhruv Pandit, Aryan Verma, Surinder Verma, Shaksham Khajuria and many others. The music was composed by renowned singer, Raju Bajgal.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the role of BLSKS for underlining the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State in generating awareness among the masses about various social evils through musical play/theatre/ drama, which are still very powerful medium of communication.
