BLSKS presents musical play ‘Doli’

JAMMU, Dec 16: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) staged musical play ‘Doli’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production, in its Saturday Theatre series at Durga Bhawan, Janipur.
The musical play ‘Doli’, which is based on the theme of ‘Save the Girl Child’ was written, produced and directed by ML Dogra (chairman, BLSKS).
The play reflects the agony of  two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society. The marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable.
Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society, “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age”.
The songs sung by the artists were “Ladli Beetiyan Hai Humari Ladi Betiyan”, “Dhiyan Gi Na Marro”, “Baiman Lok Kase Diya Mar De”, “Sun -Sun Saheli Meri Sun, Paruhn Likhu Yehi Meri Dhun” and “Kya Pier Kahun Apne Mann Ki”. The music was assisted by Raju Bajgal.
The singers, musicians and actors who performed in the play were KK Joshi, Raju Bajgal, Hem Raj, Rajni Gupta, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Druv Pandit, Tilak Raj, MC Kotwal, Sant Das, Rahul Kumar, Vansh Raina, Rakesh Katoch, Chahat Chadha, Surinder Verma, Aryan Verma, Bhoomika Chib and others.
