BLSKS presents musical concert ‘Sabarmati Ka Sant’

JAMMU, Mar 12: To celebrate the ‘Amrut Mahotsav’ initiated by PM, Narendra Modi, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) here today presented a musical concert ‘Sabarmati Ka Sant’ in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director Health Department J&K.
Guest of honour was Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Registrar SMGS Hospital while R.P Amla assisted the Concert.
The programme was to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi for Dandi March of March 12, 1930 and it commenced with songs like ‘Sabarmati Ke Sant’ etc written by M.L Dogra and composed by M.C Kotwal.
The songs were recorded and uploaded on social media for general public.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that Dandi March or Dandi Satyagrah was a non-violent protest against the British monopoly on salt production. “Gandhi Ji led the historical Dandi March from Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad to village Dandi,” he said.
Earlier in his welcome address M.L Dogra, Chairman BLSKS highlighted the day and talked about Dandi March.
Singers, musician, actors and students of Music and Computer Institute who participated in the Concert were M.C Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, Tilak Raj, Ali Mohd, Nazir Mohd and others.
Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
