BLSKS presents 226th Musical Play ‘Bin Akshar Sab Suna’

JAMMU, Sept 8: To celebrate the 52nd International Literacy Day & to promote the traditional folk culture of the State, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production & National College of computer Education presented its 226th Saturday Series Musical Play “Bin Akshar Sab Suna ” at open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur here. The Program was inaugurated by V.K.Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, J&K Health Department, Dr. A. C. Bhagat, former Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, J&K Government, were the guest of honor. The musical play was written, produced and directed by M.L.Dogra former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and the music was assisted by M.C. Kotwal, general secretary, BLSKS.
Addressing the function the chief guest said education is the most crucial yet basic human right that transforms human behavior and enables betterment of mankind. By eradicating illiteracy from the world the first International Literacy Day was celebrated in the year 1966 on September 8. The agenda was to imbibe reading and writing skills amongst children and adults from all backgrounds because education has the capability to arouse curiosity, logical thinking and develop a peaceful mind that directly impacts the social, economical and political environment of the World.
Earlier in his welcome address M. L. Dogra, chairman of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan highlighted the role of the Sanstha.
He said the World Literacy Day in India is celebrated on September 8 every year. The main purpose of it is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies. The four elements of literacy are reading, writing, painting & listening. Our little children of Pre-primary celebrated the day with various activities like colouring, drawing, painting.
Dr. A. C. Bhagat said that this year, the theme of 52nd International Literacy Day is ‘Literacy and skills development’. This year’s theme explores integrated approaches that simultaneously support the development of literacy and skills.
