JAMMU, Jan 29: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) and Peer Baba Janipur Association presented a mega cultural programme on the theme of national integration, at Hazrat Baba Shamsu-ud-Din (Sabari) Peer Baba, opposite Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu.
The programme was organized in coordination with Sangam Tru Art, Mukta Theatre Art, Unison Cultural Troupe and Milan Culutral and Social Organization and other Performing Art Groups.
The function was inaugurated by chief guest, MLA Sat Paul Sharma. VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field & Publicity and Romesh Chander, Event Director were the guests of honor.
The programme commenced with songs “Duma Dum Mast Kalander”, Diwana Tera Aya”, “Mai To Allha Ki Diwani” and “Ek Fikara Aya Shirdi Gaou Mai”.
The cultural programme presented by renowned artists and troupes of the State including KK Joshi and Party, Vijay Kumar and Party, Zulekha Fareed, Avtar Kour and Raju Bajgal, on themes of National unity, communal harmony, Indian Democracy, health, etc, which were the main highlights of the function.
Earlier presenting welcome address, ML Dogra, vice chairman, remembered the freedom fighters who scarified their life for India. Dogra also informed that during the week-long celebrations, the artists of BLSKS will present the cultural programmes at Blocks Marh, Dansal, Bhalwal, Akhnoor, Udhampur, Battal and Mansar.
The renowned artists present on the occasion were Deepak Kumar Dogra, Bodh Raj, Pooja Loach, Rajeev Salotra, Neelam Gandotra, Kamli Devi, MC Kotwal, Hemraj, Gouri Lal, Rakesh Katoch, Shivani Disgotra and many others.
A Bhandara was also organized in the Peer Baba premises
