JAMMU, June 28: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) presented “Kathoti Main Ganga” programme based on the life of Guru Ravi Dass during its 5th Saturday Musical play series at Durga Bhawan, Janipur.
The play was written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Jai Kishan Raina in presence of VK Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Vijay Mallah, Writer Producer and Director of IPTA and Romesh Chander, Event Director.
The programme commenced with Song of Guru Ravi Dass sung by the renowned artistes Usha Handoo, Raju Bajgal, Zulekha Farid, Hem Raj and KK Joshi, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
While speaking, Jai Kishan Raina highlighted the teachings of Guru Ravi Dass. He added that Dr BR Ambedkar understood and pushed forward the ideas of Ravi Dass. The chapter on fundamental rights in the Indian constitution bears the impact of Ravi Dass’ teaching.
The renowned artistes KL Verma, Bodh Raj, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Neelam Gandotra, Gouri Lal, Kamli Devi, Tilak Raj, Hem Raj, Kuldeep Raj and Avtar Kour enthralled the audience.
Earlier, VK Magotra, Managing Director, BLKSK presented the welcome address.
Among others present were Ashok Mattoo, Daleep Singh, Sunil Bhat, Raman Koul, Nanak Chand, JK Bhat, Deepak Kumar Dogra, Raju, Shivani Disgotra, Akshay Bhat, Bhoomika Chib, Neelam Chib, Deevam Jandiyal , Rakshit Sharma, Druv Pandit, Zeeshan Malik, Anil Singh, Nazuk, Anuroop Pathania, Rakesh Katoch and Rajni were also present.
The programme was conducted by KK Joshi, Vice Chairman, BLSKS.
