JAMMU, June 22: Red Ribbon Club of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences Jammu in collaboration with J&K State Aids Control Society Jammu, Blood Transfusion Department, Government Medical College Jammu and Regional Red Cross Society Jammu organized the blood donation camp at Red Cross Attendant Sarai Maheshpora Chowk here, today.
The objective of the camp was to propagate the significance of blood donation in saving lives and to generate awareness about the need of donating blood. The theme for blood donation camp was “Donate Blood, Save Life & Universal Access to Safe Blood Transfusion”. Thirty six students of Stephen’s Institute of Paramedical Sciences voluntary donated blood with great enthusiasm in the camp. The faculty members of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences Jammu who donated blood were Rajni Sharma its Assistant Professor and Gurneet Kour Nursing Tutor, of the Institute. After donating the blood, refreshment was given to all the blood donors. Sonam Sharma Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Clib SIPS & Ritu Gupta Assistant Professor & Activity Incharge SIPS) took keen initiative in organizing this camp.
Ritu Gupta appealed to the society especially the youth to come forward & contribute to the nation by donating blood and becoming saviors. Manoj Kotru, Advisor SIPS highly appreciated the students for their sincere contribution towards the society by donating their blood. “Our main motto of organizing the blood donation camp was to create awareness among the society for donating the blood and to propagate the social message under the banner of JKSACS for donating the blood selflessly”. Dr Kamal Saini, IGP Retd, Chairman SIPS, Satvinder Saini, Director, SIPS and Manoj Kotru Advisor, SIPS extended their sincere gratitude to Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Project Director, J&K State Aids Control Society for his immense support for making the event successful.
