JAMMU, Sept 16: A low-intensity blast occurred outside the house of a District Development Council member in Poonch district.

No one was injured in the blast that occurred late on Thursday night, they said.
A mysterious blast occurred outside the house of DDC member Sohail Malik in Fazlabad village of Surankote tehsil. Malik’s SUV, which was parked on the road, was damaged in the blast, the officials said.
Police and Army personnel rushed to the spot soon after the blast and an investigation into the incident is underway, they said.
Soon after the information of explosion was received, security forces searched the area and investigation was taken up, but the nature of explosion was yet to be ascertained.
Sohail Malik (DDC Member) said that at about 10 pm last night, he heard a sound as some one threw an object.
Hinting at the attack, he said that all family members are safe.
Chirperson DDC Poonch, several DDC members and SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra along with many other police officers visited his house.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer said that police have registered a case FIR number 300 under Sections 307, 120, 121 IPC and investigation has been taken up.
