UDHAMPUR, Nov 13: MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta today kick started black-topping work of Baba Parr-Dibber road and also addressed a gathering of locals at villager Dibber in Kawa Panchayat.
While addressing the gathering, Pawan Gupta claimed that during his present tenure as MLA, all the main roads and link roads of Udhampur Assembly Constituency would get black topped. He said that people of Udhampur constituency have given him mandate to represent them in the Assembly and it was his moral duty to prove himself up to their expectations.
MLA assured the gathering that the historic development of Udhampur Assembly Constit-uency is his only mission. He disclosed that Baba Parr 3.5 km road up to Air Force road is being black topping for 2 km with the cost of Rs 60 lakh.
Earlier, people of the Kawa Panchayat, under the leadership of Ex- Sarpanch Durga Padha welcomed MLA Pawan Gupta by garlanding him and raising slogan in his support.
While speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Durga Padha said that it was a matter of great relief that black topping work of Baba Parr –Dibber road has been started on the initiative of the MLA, who has fulfilled his election commitment as it was a long pending demand of the inhabitants of the area.
He also demanded the construction the road from Upper Kawa to Lower Kawa and informs the MLA that due to the leakage of PDC canal, agricultural land of the people was getting damaged. He also demanded black topping of the road from village Dibber to Jagano.
On this occasion, Raj Kumar Bucha, Navneet Gupta, Rohit Sethi, Rathan Lal, Har Charan Singh, Jag Mohan Singh, Joginder Singh, Arjun Das Sharma, Ashok Sharma and Madan Lal Sharma also addressed the function.
