Black buck poaching case: Salman’s bail plea deferred till July 17

JODHPUR: Superstar Salman Khan’s bail petition in the 1998 Black buck poaching case will be heard on July 17.
Jodhpur District and Sessions Judge Chandra Kumar Songara deferred the case, listed for hearing on Monday, after defence counsel Mahesh Bora sought time to begin arguments.
Khan has challenged the trial court order that sentenced him to a five-year jail term in the case. Khan, who had arrived here last night, reached the court along with sister Alvira, and friend Baba Siddiqui.
Notably, Salman was convicted on April 5 in the 19-year-old case and sentenced to five years imprisonment for killing two black bucks in Jodhpur during the shooting of the 1998 movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. (AGENCIES)
