BJP’s record of governance remains dismal: Bhalla

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 30: Intensifying mass contact programme against the ‘anti-people policies’ of PDP-BJP combine in Jammu, former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today alleged that BJP’s record of maiden governance has hugely remained dismal.
Addressing public gathering  at  Govindpura Chatha Cantonment in Gandhi Nagar constituency  Bhalla launched a scathing attack on the PDP-BJP dispensation for pushing Jammu and Kashmir to wall by creating a situation of drift, showing insensitivity towards people’s aspirations as a result of which the State is in total chaos. He held Government squarely responsible for creating mess since taking over the reins of administration and putting the state virtually at the brink of collapse.
“What really are you doing after making lot of promises and showing dreams to the people”, Bhalla asked the Government, advising it either to perform or perish. He said the public patience and resilience should not be taken for granted and if Government goes ahead with its dangerous policies of antagonizing youth, putting brakes on development, showing scant concern towards normal functioning of the utility services and vitiating the atmosphere, the situation may take an ugly turn.
Bhalla highlighted problems faced by the people with special reference to those living in the Jammu region. He said the power and water supply is erratic while the condition of roads has become vulnerable due to negligence thus putting the lives of pedestrians and commuters to grave risk. There is no appearance of the Government as demoralized, defunct and rudderless administration putting an unsuccessful front to meet the aspirations of the people.
Congress leader alleged that this is the worst kind of the example of mis-governance and working of Gram Sabhas. Since  this Government came to power, the ruling legislators usurped the powers of Panchayats and hijacked the plans of Panchayats. Now, when Panchayat representatives have completed the tenure, it has become a weapon of political favoritism in total violation of its norms and purpose and blatant misuse of the scheme, he alleged.
