BJP’s flickering stand on Art 370 detrimental: Bunty

Jammu, Nov 21: Terming the zigzag path adopted by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the issue of abrogating Article 370 by its top brass leaders as dangerous and detrimental for J&K State, National Conference candidate from Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Surinder Singh Bunty today said that opportunist BJP is changing its stance without pondering even a jiffy on the most vital issue that can change the course of developments in the State.
“It is startling that BJP leaders have been engaged in blowing the trumpet out of proportions on the issue, off-course in different directions and with different nodes. At the Centre they are demanding absolute abrogation of Article 370, in Jammu its leaders though want to linger on with the special status but are changing faces day in day out and in Kashmir BJP leadership’s stand is exactly opposite to their other counterparts”, divulged Singh.
He said “it is unfortunate that leaders of incumbent national political party are playing with the future of people of J & K by issuing statements on their whims and fancies without giving a thought on the issue that is of prime relevance and crucial”, stressed Singh.
Surinder Bunty stated this while addressing series of public meetings at Akali Kour Singh Nagar Digiana and Sector 1 and 2 of Nanak Nagar localities.
Bunty said that abrogating Art 370 will further increase the distress among the youth of the State since they will have to face stiff competition of Non State Subjects for getting jobs and even securing seats in the professional colleges.
Calling Article 370 as a bridge between J&K and rest of the country, Bunty said that this special provision for the State should be considered as a boon for its subjects and any interference in this regard will make the youth of this backward State to suffer more by making the chances of getting jobs and seats in professional colleges bleak.
