RAJOURI, Dec 14: Senior vice president, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), former Minister and Member AICC, Abdul Gani Vakil, today lambasted BJP for its divisive politics and said BJP’s divisive policy was responsible for spoiling the country’s secular fabric and giving rise to incidents of hate crime.
While stressing that Congress’ ideology was to unite the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion, Vakil appealed people to strengthen the secular base of Congress party which will leave no stone unturned to keep J&K strong and a vibrant State in every field.
He said Congress was committed to development of Jammu and Kashmir and wanted to preserve the rich social, traditional and cultural heritage of the peace-loving people in its unique form. Vakil also said that Congress has never hesitated to sacrifice anything for maintaining peace and harmony in country.
Vakil said this while campaigning for Congress candidate, Shabir Ahmad Khan at various places in Rajouri District. While addressing the gathering, he reiterated that Congress will form the next Government on its own as the people are too much fed up with the sentimental slogans of regional parties whether it is a slogan of autonomy or self rule.
The former Minister cautioned the people against the political forces which have always lured them with emotional slogans and have no respect for National integration or sympathy with common man.
The AICC member described the brief tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister of J&K State as a golden and unforgettable era.
He reiterated that Azad’s unrelenting efforts and visionary policies resulted in empowerment of common masses which is the reason that people are now comparing the era of Azad with the tenure of other leaders and they reach to a prudent conclusion that no past example exists in this behalf.
