Miscreants attack BJP meeting, 2 injured

JAMMU, Dec 14: Two BJP activists were injured after some miscreants attacked a corner meeting of the party, which was organized near Bakshi Nagar Shopping Centre, here this evening for canvassing in support of Sat Sharma CA-the party candidate from Jammu-West Assembly constituency.
Police has registered an FIR in this connection while the injured were admitted to hospital for treatment.
The incident took place in the evening when some unidentified miscreants, who were allegedly carrying Congress flags, stormed into the BJP meeting and resorted to verbal abuses. On being stopped, the miscreants allegedly attacked the BJP activists, including a senior leader from Punjab, who had come here for campaigning. He was identified as S S Gill, a Retd Deputy Commandant of BSF.
On being informed, Police reached the spot but by the time, miscreants had fled the scene. Police registered a case in this connection under section 147, 323 and 341 against the accidents. The injured have sustained bruises on face and other parts of body.
Later, the BJP activists held a strong demonstration in the area and demanded stern action against the miscreants.
