BJP win in bye-poll shows unflinching faith of people: Dr Nirmal Singh

JAMMU, Feb 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislative Party leader and ex-Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh has said that spectacular win of BJP in the recent by-elections in eight states is the re-affirmation of the people of the country in the programmes and policies of the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, who is on a three days tour of the Billawar Assembly constituency held three public darbar at Dharalta, Pallan and Garh Malti for on spot assessment of the ongoing developmental works and redressal of the public grievances. He initiated a number of developmental works in the constituency including laying the foundation stone of a foot bridge at Dharalta and announced road from Upper Dhar to Sri Mata Bala Sundri.
Addressing a number of public meetings, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that BJP led NDA Government has embarked on a roadmap of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and during its short span has launched major schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padao, National Food Security Act, Crop Insurance Scheme, Atal Pension Yojana besides major developmental initiatives like laying of National Highways, linking unconnected areas, modernizing the defense forces etc. He said that during its short stint in government in Jammu and Kashmir BJP introduced major developmental projects like Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), AIIMS for Kashmir and Jammu, Indian Institute of Management(IIM), Jammu, Indian Institute of Mass Communication(IIMC) and various other schemes.
“The land for IIMC and IIT has been identified and sanctioned for the establishment of the Institutes while the process for establishment of AIIMS, Kashmir and Jammu has been set in motion,” asserted Dr Singh adding, “Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 780 Crores for strengthening of the road network in the State.” He said that Rs. 25 lakh was sanctioned out of CDF for refurbishing of PDD sector in Billawar Constituency and work has been taken up by the department.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Rs. 47 crore Jathana bridge has been approved and Dayalachak to Challan road will be taken up in near future. Besides, blacktopping of other roads will be taken up very shortly.
