SUNDERBANI, Feb 14: Maintaining that ‘corruption’ is a big blot which is diminishing the centuries old pristine glory of the State, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ravinder Raina today said that the ‘corruption and nepotism’ in the State is at its peak and it is eroding the overall development of all the three regions—Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh— of the State.
Addressing a public rally in Sunderbani tehsil of Rajouri district, Ravinder Raina appealed Governor N.N Vohra to take appropriate action under law against the bureaucrats and officials who are involved in ‘knee deep’ corrupt.
He assured to the people that after coming to power in the State, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, who is working on the slogan that ‘Na Khayunga Na Khanedunga’ would bring transparency and accountability in Government Departments under the provision of ‘digital India’ initiative launched by the Central Government.
Expressing serious concern over the intensity of corrupt practices at different levels in the administration and subsequent harassment to the common masses, Raina said that it was due to the criminal silence adopted by the past Governments having hands in glove with corrupt officials that the Jammu and Kashmir has been awarded as the most corrupt State of the country. He further said that all the corruption cases should be dealt sternly and on zero tolerance basis.
Ravinder Raina, who is also the State President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), asserted that the BJP led Government in the State would provide more stringent powers to the anti-corruption wings including State Vigilance Commission (SVC), State Accountability Commission (SAC) and others by bringing a strong Anti Corruption Bill in the first session of the Legislative Assembly after the formation of the State Government.
He said corruption will be uprooted only when the people become vigilant and maintain extra watch on public service delivery system to ensure its functioning in responsive and transparent manner. Raina said and added that the youth can play a pivotal role in eradicating corruption from every nook and corner of the State. He also encouraged young people to come forward to report every case of dishonest functioning by the public servants.
