REASI, Nov 26: Accusing the National Conference (NC) Government of malpractices, senior BJP leader and celebrity Navjot Singh Sidhu today said that J&K has achieved a dubious distinction of being corrupt number one State of country during Abdullah’s rule.
Addressing mammoth public meetings at Pouni and Katra in Reasi Assembly Segment today, he said during the Abdullahs’ rule corruption was on the peak in the State and many scams took place during this period.

Sidhu, who is also former cricketer made a scathing attack on politicians from ruling class of amassing a huge wealth and constructing big mansions and hotels by looting the State exchequer. Cautioning the people against such politicians, he asked them to vote for Party candidate Ajay Nanda who is a humble politician and can be available to people at every time.
Lambasting the sitting MLA, Sidhu accused him of backstabbing the Party by filling nomination papers as an independent candidate after denial of ticket in Assembly elections this time. “The BJP is like mother for me and any person backstabbing it will not be tolerated at any cost’’, he added.
He said a leader should be loyal to the Party and not crave for personnel interests. “I being two times MP from Amritsar was denied ticket as Party fielded senior leader, Arun Jaitely from that Lok Sabha Constituency, but I did not contest as an independent candidate because my name and fame is due to Party. It is unfortunate that the person who was elected as MLA on BJP ticket back stabbed it after denial of ticket’’, he added.

He said since independence Congress, NC and PDP ruled the State and their leaders instead of solving the people’s problems remained busy in looting the State and amassing huge wealth for themselves.
During their rule the corruption and unemployment have increased in the State. He appealed the public to defeat the father -son duo Party and vote for BJP.
While highlighting the performance of the Party, he said during last six months of Narendra Modi led Government at Delhi the prices have stabilized to a great extent and many development projects were launched for the welfare of the people.
