BJP trying to take political mileage of air strike: Harsh

RAMNAGAR, Mar 3: Accusing the BJP of trying to market the Armed forces achievements as its own, NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh today cautioned the saffron brigade to refrain from drawing political mileage out of the exploits of the brave Indian soldiers.
Addressing public meetings at Kaugha and Kagote in Ramnagar today, Singh said while the credit for execution of successful air strikes goes to the IAF and military brass who had risked their lives by undertaking counter terror operations against Pak, the attempts of BJP leadership to politically own such air strikes were highly deplorable rather sacrilegious.
He condemned in particular the statement of Karnataka BJP which said that surgical strikes would redeem BJP and catapult their party to the top position in the coming elections. Likewise, he added, the loud chest thumping exercise by BJP and using surgical strikes to attack opposition could prove counterproductive. He said that such kind of posturing would not only demoralize our forces but give highly disturbing signals to world community that all such exercises are being undertaken for vote bank politics.
Singh said that BJP which was voted to power in the Country and the state had failed to realize its grandiloquent promise of ‘Achey Din’, good governance, development, employment opportunities, literacy, poverty alleviation, etc and was only indulging in rabble rousing and hollow rants for political game. Taking a pot shot at the BJP, Singh said that the Saffron brigade was busy politicizing the Indian Army’s surgical strikes across LoC on February 26 by trying to draw political capital out of the same.
Expressing grave concern over deteriorated socio-political plight of the state during saffron rule, Singh said that BJP had totally succumbed to the commands of Kashmiri leadership by sacrificing the aspirations of the people of Jammu region only for the greed of power. He said that daily wagers and contractuals of PHE, PDD, PWD, I&FC, Agriculture, Forest, Tourism, Education, RDD, Health & Medical Education, etc. were languishing in open protesting for their genuine demands of regularization of services and release of pending wages for more than four years.
