BJP trying to divert public attention from AIIMS: Bhalla

JAMMU, July 27:  Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that BJP was trying to divert the attention of the people from the issue of AIIMS.
Addressing party workers during  a meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban)  in ward No 52 (Preet Nagar) of  Block Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar, Mr Bhalla  said that the Congress is a strong, vibrant  and unifying force which represents each and every section of the pluralistic society. It is the only vibrant political party in all the three regions of the State and asked the party workers and activists to be vigilant and to question BJP over its policy of surrendering on the core issues of Jammu and asked them to strongly oppose their polices.
Mr Bhalla said that BJP is trying to divert the attention of people on the issue of AIIMS and denying of relief to the rain-flood  affected people.  It is the utter failure and betrayal of BJP to safeguard the genuine interests of the people of the region and is showing total bankruptcy of leadership and has disrespected the mandate of people of Jammu region by taking U-Turn on all its core issues and commitments made during the election campaign to the electorates.
The meeting also highlighted the local issues like as the coverage of nallahs, dilapidated conditions of lanes, drains and link roads, shortage of ration, unscheduled power cuts  and water supply.
The meeting was presided over the president DCC Jammu (U)  Anil Chopra and was  organized by  Sunder Singh Dutta, general secretary BCC in association with Dr Vijay Sharma, president BCC and  Daya Ram, president Ward No. 52 (Preet Nagar).
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included BB Gupta, Ch Sukh Dev Singh, PS Chouhan, Dr RK Khajuria, Naresh Maini, Vijay Singh Chib, Jatin Vashisht and others.
