JAMMU, Aug 24: BJP has demanded that no leniency be shown towards Pakistan as well as ultras responsible for present unrest and mob violence in Kashmir Valley.
The demand was made by 13 member delegation of the party led by its State president Sat Sharma which called on Union Minister of Home Rajnath Singh at Srinagar today.
The meeting admitted that due to slackness of the administration at initial stage a law and order problem took place in Valley but now Pakistan and Ultras are fully involved to disturb the peace in the State. They said that both Pakistan as well as ultras be taught a lesson and the people who are also responsible for mob violence be taken to task and no leniency should be shown to them.
The meeting further suggested that there should be no demoralization of forces working under testing times in Valley and fighting a proxy war for last 27 years now. It also demanded that Government should fully unmask the conduit where from the funds are being pumped to ultras to create disturbances in the State. Besides the morale of security forces be boosted to take on ultras and subversive elements who have eaten up the vitals of society and pushed the State to path of destruction and devastation over the years.
It further said it is high time that the Parliament resolution of 1994 over PoJK be given practical shape now and it should ensured that religious places are only used for religious purposes and nothing else.
The Union Home Minister while appreciating the concern shown by the delegation said that these issues are already under the serious consideration of the government and it will take all measures to restore peace in the Valley by defeating the designs of vested elements posing a threat to national unity and integrity.
The four BJP MLCs including Ramesh Arora, Surinder Ambardar, Charanjit Singh Khalsa and Sofi Yousf besides BJP leader Dr Darakshan Andrabi were among others who were in the delegation.
