KARNAH (KUPWARA), Mar 21: BJP J&K UT president, Ravinder Raina today reiterated that his party will sweep the coming forthcoming Assembly elections in the UT and form the next Government as people are fed up with the parties who ruled erstwhile State for last 70 years.
Addressing a mammoth public rally in the border town of Tangdar near here, today, Ravinder Raina said that this border belt was totally ignored in last 70 years by successive governments who only exploited the masses for their own political interests by giving catchy and misleading slogans. Their real objective was not the welfare of common masses of J&K but their own families and relatives, he added.
He said the J&K is on the path of progress and development under stewardship of Prime Minster, Narendra Modi and the projects which were pending for last 70 years have been cleared by PM who has given special focus to J&K. He declared that Sadna tunnel in Karnah has been sanctioned by Union Minister, of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and he is hopeful that the work on the tunnel will be started during this year. He said tenders have been called and DPR framed for the project.
Raina said with construction of this tunnel a long pending demand of the people will be fulfilled. He said this border belt is strategically very important and with the construction of tunnel the distance of the Karnah with rest of the country will also be reduced.
The BJP president said that people living in far flung and remote areas of the country are priority for Modi Government and present Government has given special focus to this belt as people belonging to Pahari community reside in this belt. Raina, while referring to Union Home Minster, Amit Shah’s last year October 4 and October 5 rallies held at Rajouri and Baramulla respectively, said the Home Minister had announced that Paharis will be given their due right.
He said this Government has constructed roads, tunnels , bridges, power projects, schools and hospitals for the welfare of people without any consideration on the basis of caste, region or religion but on the basis of justice to all and appeasement to none.
Terming the people of Karnah as brave hearts, Raina said that they always supported the national interests and present Government can never ignore their nationalistic role. He said local people will be given preference as porters while congratulating the people that for the first time 94 people from Karnah belt have been selected in Border Battalion.
