HIRANAGAR, Dec 16: Union Minister of State with independent charge of Science & Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh while terming Prime Minister, Narendra Modi a charismatic leader, today said his chariot is on victory march and BJP is all set to cross 400 seats mark in next year Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking during a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) event organised at Government High School in Panchayat Gurha Mundian of block Hiranagar in Kathua district today, Dr Jitendra Singh said BJP under the leadership of Modi is going to break all previous records and party will romp home with over 400 Lok Sabha seats in next year’s general elections as entire country is solidly behind the PM.
Taking a dig at critics for alleging that BJP started the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” eying the next year Lok Sabha elections, Dr Jitendra Singh said since taking over as PM in May 2014, Modi launched public welfare schemes after every fortnight.
“Had it been so the BJP would not have annulled the controversial Articles 370 and 35 A in August 2019 four months after formation of Government in second term, instead waited for elections. “Our motto is not appeasement for seeking votes but for us power is means of service to people and we stick to it strictly”, he added.
The Minister categorically stated that VBSY has nothing to do with elections. He said the Government is always ready for elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the Prime Minister started rolling out several schemes immediately after coming to power at the Centre in May 2014. Jan Dhan Yojana was one of the first schemes unveiled, he informed, adding that there were no elections at the time. He said no one suffered during the COVID pandemic as the Government directly transferred money into the accounts of poor and weaker sections of society. This was also part of the Prime Minister’s vision to secure citizens’ lives, he said.
Dr Jitendra Singh asserted that VBSY is in continuation of that spirit of service, and a sequel to the Government’s campaign of reaching the benefits of schemes to the poor and marginalised sections of the society.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while terming Modi a visionary leader said he launched Vishwakarma Scheme for betterment of artisans and he gave new work culture to the country.
He said Prime Minister abolished age old system of getting certificates sealed and signed by Gazette Officers and doled out various schemes for the benefit of farmers, youth and women which earlier Governments of Congress and its allies have failed to do.
Dr Jitendra Singh said Modi brought PM Awas Yojna and this way fulfilled the aspirations of the people to lead a dignified life in the society.
Dr Jitendra Singh said VBSY is a means to address the common man’s aspiration at doorstep and is a result of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision to secure the life of every citizen in this country.
Describing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra as the first of its kind initiative, Dr Singh stated that earlier, citizens used to go to the Government; now, the Government is at their doorsteps.
He said the VBSY emanates from the Prime Minister’s sensitivity for the common man and his commitment to reach out to those whose needs are yet to be fulfilled.
The Minister said, previously the Government fulfilled people’s needs and requirements. Now, it is fulfilling their aspirations, he added. The Minister further said the Government’s schemes are reaching out to the remotest Panchayat and village, and in fact, the last man in the queue without any discrimination on the basis of caste or creed.
The Minister highlighted that his Lok Sabha constituency holds the distinction of attaining saturation of several Government schemes, including those related to sanitation and agriculture.
On the occasion, the Minister presented ‘Abhinandan patra’ to a few Sarpanches for their outstanding work in the implementation of Government’s various initiatives and schemes.
Later, Dr Singh visited several stalls set up at the event as part of VBSY to offer on-spot services, like free health check up.
