BJP to commemorate Ambedkar Jayanti as Samrasta Diwas

JAMMU, Apr 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir will commemorate the Jayanti (birth anniversary) of Bharat Ratna, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar as “Samrasta Diwas”.
This was disclosed in a press conference held at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today by BJP general secretary, Vibodh Gupta, former Minister and Headquarter in charge, Priya Sethi and party media in charge, Dr Pardeep Mangotra.
J&K BJP general secretary, Vibodh Gupta said that Baba Saheb was leader with such a tall stature that he should not be restricted to particular community, instead this day must be observed in social gatherings depicting perfect “Samrasta” amongst all.
Vibodh said that Baba Saheb was such a strong nationalist in his entire life that he never compromised with the nation interests. Along with it, he was one of the greatest whistle blowers and social reformers whose contributions world will always remember. He said that it is an irony that he was never recognized for his works by the Congress led governments. But now BJP has ensured that his contributions are duly recognized by one and all, he added.
The BJP leader said that like previous years, this year also BJP will commemorate the birthday of Baba Saheb as the “Samrasta Diwas”. He said that on this occasion, BJP activists will light his statues and Chowks during previous night and they will clean the statue on the next day to offer their respects to this great leader.
Various blood donation camps and seminars will also be organized on the day. He also disclosed that party leaders will participate and spend time in the programmes organized at the community level.
Priya Sethi appealed the common masses to participate in the “Samrasta Diwas” programmes. She said that Baba Saheb ensured the rights of every Indian resident in the beautifully compiled “Constitution of India” for which every Indian especially the underprivileged communities will always remain indebted. She also disclosed that yesterday on the party’s “Sthapna Diwas” with the dedicated efforts of party activists right from top hierarchy level to ground activist, party flag was unfurled at more than 5000 booth presidents’ homes with the affixation of their name plates at their doors in the region. For this every activist of BJP deserves compliments, she added.
