JAMMU, Oct 4: The All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) today lambasted BJP leadership for cheating the State OBCs.
Addressing a meeting of the Union, Prof Kali Dass, general secretary of AIBCU said, “The inner BJP policy is exposed every now and then when their top leaders feel ashamed by bringing the word ‘OBCs’ on their tongue”.
He said that the BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav while counting the benefits of the abrogation of Article 370 before dispatching a rally in Janipur, mentioned the name of every category but skipped the OBC category. This is not the only case but every BJP being anti-OBC minded who while giving rights consider them as ‘shuderas’ who are covered under Hindu fold.
Prof Kali Dass said that the Governor Satya Pal Malik has been assuring the State OBCs for full due in employment and in education by its campaign through Information and Public Relations Department since 3-9-2019 but the BJP leaders in Centre and State do not mention the due benefits to OBCs under the newly carved J&K UT.
“The natural flow of justice under J&K UT allows 27% due share to OBCs as per the definition of an OBC as enshrined by the Supreme Court in the Mandal Report decision of 1992”, Prof Kali Dass said, adding, if this definition is changed with the man made definition of OBC then abrogation of Article 370 would be treacherous for the OBCs.
The meeting also discussed the issue of 2021 census, stating that despite making promise with State OBCs before 2019 elections and after winning elections, the Government has refused to count OBCs in a separate column. Participants and the speakers warned the Government to mend its decision for OBC survey or face a bycott of the survey by the OBCs of the country.
