JAMMU, May 28: On birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar, State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party today organized a programme at the party headquarter where rich tributes were paid to the great freedom fighter.
BJP State general secretary Yudhvir Sethi led the programme which was also addressed by BJP State Incharge All Morchas Munish Sharma, BJYM State president Vikas Choudhary and other senior leaders.
Yudhvir Sethi, while speaking on the occasion, said that Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar was born on this day in 1883 near Nasik in Maharashtra. He termed him as the one of the front line revolutionary of those times who fought with grit against the colonial rule of British. He said that the life of Veer Savarkar portrays a perfect blend of vision, commitment and dedication towards the Nation.
Throughout his life, Savarkar fought for the motherland and faced many difficulties in his lifetime, but never backed off. He challenged Britishers by denouncing all foreign products and laid stress for the greater and Akhand Bharat,” Sethi recalled.
Munish Sharma, in his address, said that life of Veer Savarkar epitomizes truth and valour. He said that Savarkar was given tough punishments, but this only increased his commitment and love for the Nation. He said that the Savarkar was a perfect blend of special qualities of intelligence and valour, which he uniquely utilized for the uprising against imperialists.
BJYM president Vikas Choudhary, in his address, said that Savarkar infused energy in the youth of countries all over the world with revolutionary and nationalist ideas. He said that all the youth must follow the footsteps of Veer Savarkar and develop love for the motherland.
Kulbhushan Mohtra, Tilak Raj Gupta, Naresh Singh, Karan Sharma, Advocate Bhanu Pratap Singh, Sat Paul Karlupia, Sahil, Hari Om, Vikram Singh and others also paid floral tributes to Veer Savarkar on the occasion.
Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bharat Raksha Manch led by its president Dr. Yog Raj Padha also organsied a programme to pay tributes to Damodar Savarkar on his 136th birth anniversary, here at Dogra Shaurya Stambh, Ambphalla Jammu.
Ved Gandotra, president Freedom Fighter Association J&K, was the chief guest on the occasion, while key address was delivered by Govind Malviya.
Kulwant Bhatti, Binny Mahajan, Satpal Hindu, Sanjeev Dubey, Deepak Singh Rana, Aatish Bhatti & Hans Raj also spoke on this occasion.
Savarkar Study Circle Kishtwar today organised a seminar on the occasion of Veer Savarkar’s birth anniversary at BVM School. Ranveer Singh Parihar President Savarkar Study Circle Kishtwar and guest of the Program Akshay Sharma spoke in this Seminar.
