JAMMU, July 6: Glowing tributes were paid to founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and veteran leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his 119th birth anniversary by J&K BJP across the UT today.
In this connection several programmes were conducted across the region by the leaders and activists of BJP to pay tributes to the tall national leader who laid down his life for total integration of J&K with India.
BJP president, Ravinder Raina accompanied by former party president, Ashok Khajuria, former President & MP (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, former party president & MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM, Kavinder Gupta, party vice-presidents, Dr. Narinder Singh, Sham Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Aseem Gupta, party general secretaries, Sunil Sharma, Adv. Vibodh Gupta & Dr. D K Manyal, former Minister Sukhnandan Choudhary, office secretary, Tilak Raj Gupta, media secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and other party leaders paid their tributes to the great ideologue, at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar here, today.
Former BJP president & former Minister Sat Sharma, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, party media secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, district president Munish Khajuria, district general secretary (Org.) Moan Singh Rana, Mandal presidents, Keshav Chopra and Ravish Mengi, JMC Councillors Sanjay Kumar Baru, Surinder Sharma, Dr. Akshay Sharma and others paid tributes to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at Kachi Chawni, in a programme organized by BJP Jammu West district.
Former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta accompanied by district president, Vinay Gupta, district general secretary, Ankush Gupta, Narender Koki, Bharat Bhushan Sharma and others paid respect to Dr. Mukherjee at Gandhi Nagar.
BJP Additional publicity secretary, Ayodhya Gupta in presence of party Media Incharge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Incharge Ladli Beti Abhiyan Veena Gupta, Munish Rakwal, Deepak Kumar, Kusum Gupta, Vikas Gupta, Vishal Sharma, Ghanshyam Sharma, Bablu and others paid tributes to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at Talab Tillo.
Ravinder Raina, speaking on the occasion, the vision of Dr Mukherjee for which he laid down his life was achieved after a 67 long struggle by the party and we succeeded in unifying the whole nation. He said that the it is only due to his unrelenting fight against discriminatory and unjustified “Two Nishan, Two Vidhan and Two 2 Pradhan”, that we the residents of Independent India have succeeded to see the day, when Article 370 and 35(a) have been done away with. “Finally, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has fulfilled the dream of Dr. Mukherjee and unified the whole region with the rest of India”, he added.
Raina also recalled that how Dr. Mukherjee was arrested by Sheikh Abdullah on May 11, 1953, when he entered Jammu and Kashmir without permit, he was sent to a Srinagar jail where he died “under mysterious circumstances” on June 23, 1953 and still the air has not cleared about the incident.
Floral tributes were paid to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on the occasion of his birth anniversary by Jammu East BJP led by former MLA Rajesh Gupta. On the occasion dry ration were also distributed among the needy people in the Jammu East.
In this programme he was accompanied by Karan Singh, Sanjay Mahey, Rajinder Gupta,Rajesh Gupta, Pardeep Sharma, Surinder Anand, Raj Kumar Gupta, Chamanlal, Charanjeet.sanjay Majotra and Manav Mahajan
Besides, BJP Mahila Morcha State Executive member Praveen Arora, state vice president, Anu Gupta, State secretary, Neeru Anand, district, secretary, Sangeeta Anand, Surinder Kaur, Asha Bharti, Surekha and Maya Devi also accompanied him.
Rajesh Gupta while paying tributes to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee said that it was due to the supreme sacrifice of the great leader that the footprints of BJP were laid in the erstwhile State of J&K.
