BJP readies health volunteers to spread awareness about COVID

Srinagar, Aug 6: To tackle the possible third wave, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Kashmir Unit on Friday launched the volunteer program that will act as a bridge between people and the health department.
Addressing the party workers at a health volunteer training workshop in Srinagar, BJP J&K General Secretary Sunil Sharma said health volunteers will reach out to people in every corner of Kashmir and will aware, help, and counsel them regarding Covid19 vaccination.
“It is an important program launched by the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was leading India from the front to combat the possible third Covid19. It is by the efforts of Modi Ji, our country is among the leading countries who have vaccinated maximum citizens,” he said.
Sharma said these health volunteers will not only create awareness among the masses about the pandemic but will also help sick people get primary health care and get them admitted to the hospital.
“They will have special kits including a pulse oximeter, a thermometer, a rapid antigen testing kit and other boosters to fight the Corona pandemic, he added.
Dr Manish Sharama has been appointed as convener of the Jammu and Kashmir, while Dr Fareeda will be co-convener of the programme.
On Friday, the health volunteers completed their training workshop at Srinagar regarding the possible third wave of Covid19. They (Health volunteers’) had already completed their training workshop in New Delhi along with the national presidents of the party.
On the occasion, the Covener of the program, Dr Manish Sharam said it was decided that the party will train health volunteers across the Valley, including imparting technical knowledge, to operate ventilators and other essential medical devices.
“They will act as bridges between people and the department. They will be always ready for the help,” he said.
