JAMMU, Oct 4: Alleging that BJP and PDP are polarising situation just to hide their failures, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today castigated BJP for betraying the people of Jammu by making false promises and indulging in emotive slogans.
“Growing public anger reflects the disenchantment against nightmarish mis-governance of the PDP-BJP Government”, Bhalla said while addressing a workers meeting in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
He said that Congress is committed to equitable development of all the three regions of the State. He asserted that it is the Congress Party alone which is representing the aspirations of the people fully and will continue to work for the equitable development of all the three regions of the J&K State. Bhalla described previous PDP-BJP dispensation as anti-poor and anti-development, saying due to administrative inertia and lack of political direction the sufferings of the people have increased manifold during over past four years.
“The insensitive coalition Government has pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a huge dent”, he added.
Expressing serious concern over the vitiating atmosphere of peace in the State due to the wrong polices of the previous Government in the State and present Government at the Centre, Bhalla cautioned the people about the designs of communal and divisive forces in the State which he said are constantly on a lookout for opportunities to strike and create hatred.
Terming the previous PDP-BJP Government as a directionless, Bhalla said that an atmosphere of total chaos, confusion and uncertainty prevailed in the State due to the wrong policies of the State and the Central Government. The State Government also miserably failed on all fronts and its over more than four years in State had only given rise to a situation of uncertainty, chaos and confusion, he said.
Bhalla accused BJP of betraying farmers, youth and poor sections by not honouring the pre-poll promises. The people have made up their mind to teach a befitting lesson to BJP in the next polls.
