JAMMU, Oct 23: Former minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) senior vice president, Sham Lal Sharma has alleged that PDP-BJP Coalition has failed to resolve basic issues of the people.
Addressing a meeting of District Congress Committee Urban Jammu workers, at party office here today, Sham Lal who was chief guest strongly criticized the present Govt in the State for its alleged failure to address the basic issues of the people.
The meeting was organised by Anil Chopra district president.
Besides preparations for holding a grand function to commemorate the death anniversary of Late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, many other critical and burning issues were discussed in the meeting, which included shortage of ration supplies, erratic electricity and water supply, deteriorating health services and sanitation in Jammu city.
PCC leader further said that the death anniversary of late Indira will be observed in a befitting manner. Various functions would be organized by District Congress Committees in their respective District headquarters. The main function will be held at Indira Chowk, Jammu, where all senior leaders of the party and functionaries of PCC and DCC Jammu pay their tributes to Indira ji.
Sharma described the Coalition Government as total failure on all fronts and causing unrest and untold miseries to each and every section of the society due to its wrong policies. He said that Congress would continue to play its role of a responsible and vibrant opposition to highlight the failures of the Government and make it accountable to the people of the State. He said that Congress is committed to strengthen the secular fabric of the State.
Anil Chopra said that Indira Gandhi was the role model for the citizens of India and they heartily respect her. He asked the functionaries of District, Block and Ward Congress Committee Jammu Urban to attend the function to be held at Indira Chowk on October 31 and pay their tributes to the Iron lady.
