SRINAGAR, May 3:  President Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that NC and Congress were never alternatives and both these parties were responsible for all the prevailing mess in Kashmir.
“Both NC and Congress and now joined by PDP and BJP have to be accountable to people politically as well as economically,” Vakil added.
Hitting  at the leadership of both NC and Congress, Vakil while addressing party convention at Tulsi Bagh in Srinagar, said that Congress is responsible for eroding the Article 370 from 1953 onwards till the fall of the Omar led NC-Congress Coalition Government in the year 2014, the National Conference known for its failures in keeping promises on restoration of Article 370 and AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act), itself is responsible for the current crisis in Kashmir.
Vakil blamed Congress- whose leaders are now showing affection toward the people of State changed the nomenclature of political administration by re-designating the Sadr-e-Reyasat and Prime Minister as Governor and Chief Minister.
“People are fed up with them now and their false promises. Kashmiri youth are enough conscious of their politics of deceit. When they lose power, they beat the drum for justice and even shamelessly talk of Azadi,” Vakil added.
He also hit out at PDP for changing its colours after coming to power. “All these parties are equally responsible. When they are in power they forget all their promises. And when they are out of power, they even talk about Azadi. Vakil asked who forced India to send its troops to Kashmir? Who was the leader at that time?”
PDP, NC and Congress have to show their accountability before people one day. “What they have done politically with the people of Kashmir,” Vakil added.
He also hit out at the present ruling dispensation saying that the coalition is totally unnatural and it lacks cohesion. They are busy in infighting and always ignore grievances of people.
A resolution was passed on the occasion in which both Centre  and the State Govts were stressed to initiate dialogue with Hurriyat leaders and also engage Pakistan in talks.
