JAMMU, Apr 8: National Conference additional general secretary and former Minister, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said the BJP has acknowledged its rejection and defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections across Jammu and Kashmir by not announcing candidates for Poonch-Rajouri-Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla Parliamentary Constituencies.
Addressing prominent workers of National Conference at Barnai (Bantalab) in Jammu North Assembly Constituency today, Sadhotra said the position of the BJP in the remaining two Parliamentary Constituencies of Jammu and Udhampur too is critical due to widespread resentment and disillusionment among the people due to misgovernance and total disconnect of the candidates with their voters.
Sadhotra exuded confidence about INDIA bloc sweeping the polls in all the five Parliamentary constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir at the strength of its goodwill and track record of public service before the nightmarish rule of the so-called double engine Government. He said the BJP will face its Waterloo here like rest of the country.
NC leader slammed the BJP for twisting the statistics and indulging in the high voltage propaganda in its daily rants in the media, saying this speaks of its fear and frustration in the wake of imminent rejection by the people. He said Jammu and Kashmir has suffered the most during the BJP’s misrule and the sagacious electorate has firmed up resolve to teach the party a lesson by power of their votes for their betrayal. The fear of defeat has unnerved the BJP leadership, which is why they are indulging in name calling and mudslinging.
Sadhotra advised the BJP leadership to come to age and go for extensive introspection over the failures in a sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir, where it failed miserably in feeling the pulse of the people and assuaging their economic, developmental and political aspirations. He said BJP has pushed the people, especially educated unemployed youth to wall and generating apprehensions among the state subjects about their lands.
He called upon the sagacious voters to support the INDIA block candidates, Raman Bhalla Jammu-Reasi and Ch Lal Singh Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituencies in the ensuing elections and register their rejection to misrule of the BJP.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Raghubir Singh, Ghar Singh, Ankush Abrol, Rakesh Kumar, Bagh Ali and Dr Vikas Sharma.
