JAMMU, Jan 18: The BJP Minority Morcha Jammu & Kashmir, led by UT President Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, organised a spirited Volleyball Tournament at Tamala, Arnia, aimed at promoting physical fitness, teamwork and a drug-free lifestyle among youth in the border region.
The final match saw Tangali Sai, led by Captain Amreek Singh, edge past Pindi Kathar, captained by Aman, in a thrilling encounter to lift the championship trophy. The runners-up team displayed remarkable skill and resilience, earning appreciation from all present.
Dr Rajeev Kumar Bhagat, MLA Bishnah, attended as chief guest and praised the youth for their talent, stressing the role of sports in shaping disciplined, confident, and responsible citizens. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in steering young minds away from social evils like drug abuse.
Ranjodh Singh Nalwa emphasised physical fitness and character-building through sports, quoting Swami Vivekananda about the importance of a healthy mind in a healthy body. He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Khelo India initiative, calling it a game-changer for rural and border-area youth by providing national exposure, world-class facilities, and support for young athletes.
The tournament was organised by Tableen Boparai, with prominent leaders from BJP Minority Morcha in attendance, and concluded with trophies and certificates for winners and participants.
Prominent leaders present included Rink Choudhary, District President RS Pura, Advocate Jasmeet Kour Pandey and Dharamjit Singh, State General Secretaries (Minority Morcha), Gurdeep Singh, District President RS Pura Border (Minority Morcha) and Sunil Shastri, Seh Prabhari (Incharge) Jammu North.
