KATHUA, Dec 16: Accusing BJP of literally hijacking J&K elections, chief patron of National Panthers Party Prof Bhim Singh has alleged that Prime Minister is misusing his position and the Election Commission must take cognizance of it.
He was addressing several election rallies in Billawar, Hiranagar and Kathua along with party candidates, Ravinder Billeoria, Jagdish Raj and Balbir Singh. Prof Singh alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is flying over the heads of the people by using Government helicopters like kites in the election. He said that it is free for Prime Minister only who is dashing his helicopters in almost every village and town which costs state exchequer worth crores every day.
The NPP leader accused Prime Minister of using Central agencies to hire the people for his election rallies from Punjab. He said that each person is paid to attend the rally with free meals. Singh wondered at the silence of the Election Commission who is watching gross violation of Code of Conduct. He alleged that Prime Minister has visited in every district and most of the constituencies in Jammu Pradesh where election shall be held December 20.
NPP leader said that he could not reach the meeting venues in Kathua and Jammu districts today which were closed for the entry of private vehicles. Same thing happened in December 8 rally at Srinagar. He asked CEC to justify allowing PM to take dozen of flights every week in J&K resulting into curfew like situation where no non-BJP party can continue election campaign.
Prof Singh appealed the voters defeat BJP which has caused a serious threat to Parliamentary democracy by misusing the power, money and administration and literally hijacked the electoral process. He warned that such a trend shall prove counterproductive and a serious threat to democracy.
