BJP likely to get absolute majority in Delhi polls: Survey

NEW DELHI, Dec 12:
BJP is expected to get an absolute majority by bagging around 45 seats in the upcoming Delhi Assembly election, while AAP is likely to win in 17 constituencies, an opinion poll said today.
As per the ABP-Nielsen poll, Arvind Kejriwal is the most preferred candidate for the position of Chief Minister with 43 per cent of the respondents preferring him followed by BJP’s Harsh Vardhan.
It said Congress is likely to bag 7 seats in the 70-seat House in Delhi. The half-way mark in the 70-member Assembly is 36.
The survey said around half of the respondents feel that BJP would form the Government in the upcoming election while around 38 per cent were of the view that Aam Aadmi Party would do so.
It said 65 per cent of the respondents have rated Arvind Kejriwal’s performance as ‘good/very good’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government’s performance has been rated as ‘good/very good’ by a majority of 74 per cent respondents, the survey said.
While Modi remains the most popular leader in Delhi with 58 per cent of respondents surveyed, Kejriwal is the second -most popular leader with 33 per cent support. Rahul Gandhi has the backing of 7 per cent, the survey said.
