BJP leader, social activist discuss people centric issues with LG

JAMMU, Sept 22: Former Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Bali Bhagat accompanied by Er Daya Sagar, social activist discussed people centric issues with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. They also submitted a memorandum to the LG.
While speaking, Bali requested LG to issue clarification to the officers in issuing Domicile Certificate to the children of PRC holder woman of the J&K married to a non permanent resident of J&K.
Former Minister urged the Governor that PRC/SSC of erstwhile State of J&K should be considered as document equivalent to Domicile Certificate where ever needed. This will relieve Tehsildars of mounting pressure and saves time and money of the common man, he added.
Kind attention of Lt Governor was also drawn towards the discriminatory service rules for new appointments in Government.
LG’s attention was also drawn towards the delimitation of Legislative Assembly of UT of J&K informing that the distant and backward areas of J&K falling particularly in the districts of Baramulla, Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch have been so far denied due share in the legislature as well as local administration. The need for Reorganisation of District Administrative Units before delimitation was also discussed.
Delimitation commission must reconsider its August 2020 decision of banning Reorganisation of Districts in J&K, Former Minister said.
They urged the Governor of providing assistance of Rs 5.50 lakh to the PoJK DPs living in other states at par with those residing in Jammu and Kashmir.
LG has been requested to also extend the economic relief in the water and electricity bills to individual family units/households as well. Assistance of 50 per cent subsidy (maximum Rs 5 Lakh) may kindly be extended to owners of load carriers (trucks) also like bus owners for replacement of old vehicles.
It has been also submitted that the culture of incharge promotions in departments must be checked.
Shortage of paramedical staff, human resource/faculty requirement of new J&K Medical College and COVID-19 pandemic management were also discussed by them with the Lieutenant Governor.
LG Manoj Sinha gave a very patient and responsive attention to the issues placed before him and assured for all possible help from his side.
