BJP leader from Rajouri meets Rajnath, submits memorandum

JAMMU, Sept 17: Former vice chairman, of Pahari Development Board and senior BJP leader, Kuldeep Raj Gupta met Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh in Delhi and submitted a memorandum to him highlighting the various problems of people living in twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
The BJP leader in his memorandum demanded creation of second Defence Line along LoC and International Border to check the infiltration from across the border especially in border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
The memorandum, while endorsing the bold decisions taken by Narendra Modi Government in containing terrorism in the State, said that militancy has been contained to a great extent in J&K and terrorists are feeling the heat of Government action now.
The BJP leader said that during the Government of Atal Behari Vajpayee a TV Station was established in Rajouri but that is totally defunct now and the same be made functional.
It demanded ST status for Pahari speaking people and said that five lakh people in Kashmir Valley are also speaking Pahari language and they be also given the benefit of reservations.
He demanded immediate implementation of the decision regarding grant of three percent reservations to Pahari people.
Gupta said that the people in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch continuously suffered in 1947 raiders attack, 1965 as well as 1971 wars and proxy war since 1989 and the Government should frame a concrete policy to contain the enemy so that the people living in borders can lead a peaceful and happy life.
