JAMMU, June 10: Senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit leader, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo has demanded enhancement of cash relief to displaced Pandits from Valley to Rs 20,000 per family and Rs 5000 per soul in view of the sky rocketing prices and the situation created due to dreaded COVID.
In a letter to Union Home Minister, Amit Shah the BJP leader demanded his immediate intervention in the matter and redressal of this long pending issue since the cost of price index has gone high a number of times over the last five years and consequent price rise in almost all fields of public purchases has touched a high that has disturbed the domestic budget of the displaced community of Kashmir, currently living in exile due to their ethnic cleansing.
He said there are less than 22,000 relief holders in total who are dependent upon the monthly relief. It would be a great gesture on behalf of the Government to provide this sort of help to the relief holders on the auspicious occasion of the upcoming Raksha Bandhan, the letter added.
He demanded monetary assistance from the Government for over-aged youth who could not be accommodated in PM package like monetary compensation, interest free loans and one time working capital for creating new working business units that can earn profits in due course of time.
Moreover, he demanded a package of 4000 jobs for displaced youth in Central Government services and expressed the hope that Union Home Ministry will look into these issues at an earliest.
