JAMMU, Apr 5: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir Displaced Unit in its meeting here today deliberated on various problems of the displaced people from Valley.
The meeting was also attended by Surinder Ambardar, party nominee for Upper House. The meeting expressed the hope that with the change of guard both at State and Centre the problems of the displaced people will get redressed.
President of the Displaced Unit T N Bhat informed the meeting that various issues confronting the displaced people like enhancement of cash relief, employment of overaged youth, solution of the traders problems and solving the drinking water problems in Jagti and Nagrota camps were already taken up with concerned authorities.
He said while some issues have already been addressed the rest will be vigorously followed before the government.
The meeting said that with clearing the name of Mr Ambardar for Upper House, BJP has made it clear that it is committed to political empowerment of the community.
In his address Mr Ambardar assured the meeting that he will work for the betterment of the community and State as a whole and take the problems of the community to every fora for their redressal. He sought the cooperation of all sections of the community in general and BJP displaced Unit in particular.
The vote of thanks was presented by Virender Kuchroo, general secretary of the Unit while ex president Kashmir Samiti Delhi Rakesh Koul, Pyaray Lal Koul, Mohan Lal Sopori and others also addressed the meeting.
