BJP holds ‘Booth Sammelan’ at Kathua, Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Feb 16: Giving impetus to its ongoing election preparatory campaign, BJP today held an impressive “Booth Sammelan” at Kathua which was attended by Incharges of all the polling booths, Shakti Kendras and members of booth committees falling in the Kathua constituency. The purpose of today’s programme was to impart education and awareness about booth management, election issues for 2014 and, rules and regulations laid down by Election Commission.
State BJP Past President Shamsher Singh Manhas, National Executive Member & J&K Chief Spokesperson Dr Jitendra Singh, Kathua district Prabhari Harinder Gupta, MLA Durga Das, District President advocate Vijay, Constituency Incharge Som Raj Sharma and State Spokesperson, Sanjiv Sharma were among the prominent leaders who addressed the Sammelan.
Shamsher Singh Manhas spoke about the importance of proper booth management during the poll. He said, the principle of “one booth, ten youth” must be strictly adhered to and the party workers on duty must keep an eye to check any malpractice by representatives of other parties.
Dr Jitendra Singh spelt out the various issues on which the forthcoming election is going to be fought and said, the stakes are no longer limited to a particular party because the vital question is whether democracy,in true spirit,will survive in this country. Rightly therefore, BJP has given a call “Vote for India” to liberate the country from the slavery of dynasty rule and give the youth,who comprise more than 60% population, the true democracy based on equality because that is what their fore-fathers had launched the freedom struggle for,he explained.
Harinder Gupta received a detailed reporting and had direct one-to-one interaction with each of the booth committee members present.
Sanjiv Sharma made an elaborate and lucid presentation on “Role of BLA 1, BLA 2, BLO” and “Model Code of Conduct”.
Som Raj Khajuria said, as incharge of constituency, he will keep a close follow-up of the activities and preparations preceding election.
Another polling booth  worker Sammelan at Gandhi Nagar was inaugurated by BJP State general secretary (org.) Ashok Koul along with BJP State President, Jugal Kishore, Jammu district President Rajesh Gupta, Jammu district Prabhari Rajni Sethi, BLA Virenderjeet Singh, Col(retd) Uttam Singh band former MLA Choudhary Payara Singh.
Addressing the workers Jugal Kishore Sharma asked them to concentrate on running a grounded election campaign focussing on booths and households. He said the more grounded  campaign would further strengthen the party and would lead to party’s thumping victory in upcoming Parliament as well as in Assembly elections. Jugal said nation has lost trust in Congress led UPA and only BJP  with its strong and decisive leadership is the alternative at this juncture.  He said Congress has plundered India worst than enemies and it is the responsibility  of BJP workers to save India from Congress eclipse.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP State general secretary (org.) Ashok Koul said a poll victory takes birth in a polling booth and not in public rallies, TV debates, posters or through magazines and losing in a polling booth does not win elections, he added. Koul urged the polling booth workers to work day and night to carry the Party’s activities  to the booth level and make sure the proper and regular meetings of the booth level workers. He  asked the workers to carry the party’s “Ek Note-Kamal Par Vote” campaign with all sincerity and dedication to reach out each and every house in the State.
