JAMMU, Mar 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) leaders handed over Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards to the poor and SC Community people under National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) here at BJP Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar today.
Golden cards were distributed by BJP general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul who was also accompanied by former MLA Rajesh Gupta, former MLC Surinder Ambardar, BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and other senior leaders on the occasion.
The maximum of the beneficiaries who were distributed Golden cards on the occasion belonged to the SC community. The procurement and the processing of the cards on a very short notice were done by BJP district Jammu West vice-president, Puneet Mahajan.
Ashok Kaul, speaking on the occasion said Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is providing coverage up to rupees five lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization in the country. “For the faster growth of the nation and State in particular we have to adopt the reforms which are pro poor, and this scheme has served its purpose on the ground giving benefit to the deserving and the poor’’, he said and added that the beneficiaries can avail benefits in both public and empanelled private facilities under the scheme.
Kaul, on the occasion, congratulated the beneficiaries and said that the people should opt for every welfare scheme. He requested the BJP workers to assist the agency to reach out to masses. He said that this will ensure that the benefit of the schemes will reach the most deserving person and the intended beneficiary. He also called for active participation of the BJP workers to make the public aware about the other Centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
Puneet Mahajan, on the occasion, said that he has been continuously involved in the procurement and distribution of Golden cards since the started of the scheme and stressed that this is one of the scheme that has given direct benefit to the poor and needy population. He also told that J&K has become number one in the distribution of Ayushman Golden Cards and till now approximately 18 lakh golden cards have been distributed in J&K till now.
