JAMMU, Nov 22: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Mula Ram accused the BJP led Government at the Centre of failing to safeguard the interests of farming community. He said that the BJP Government has adopted anti-farmer policies due to which the miseries of the farmers have increased manifold.
While interacting with farmers during his tour to several villages Shama Chak, Gura Singo, Lallyal and Bichyal falling under the Block Marh in connection with election campaign in favour of Rajinder Kumar contesting DDC poll on Congress mandate, Mula Ram alleged that the BJP had gained power after “betrayal of the mandate” and its experiments cost too much to the people of Jammu and Kashmir who lost their identity as a state besides all safeguards to their land and jobs.
“The people will not spare BJP for its total failure and arbitrary and undemocratic decisions besides imposing heavy taxes, price hike and economic crises and failures on health and medicare during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
The senior Congress leader said that the farmers are feeling depressed and helpless as there is nobody to listen to them. He termed the three Farm Bills passed in the Lok Sabha by the BJP Government as anti-farmers, alleging that the BJP Government will give “freedom” to corporates to brutally exploit the farmers and take away the protection that the Minimum Support Price provides.
Mula Ram said that the farmers are not getting adequate fertilizers due to which they are feeling severe problems. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are fed up with the “bluffs and failures” of BJP and would teach the saffron party a lesson in the forthcoming DDC elections. He also appealed to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to safeguard interests of farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Among others who accompanied the former minister include, Block president Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Uttam Singh, Darshan Mehra, Pritam Lal and many others.
