JAMMU, Mar 22: Former MLA from Marh and senior Congress leader Balban Singh has alleged that BJP has failed to protect jobs and lands of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
While launching membership drive in Phallain Mandal area of Marh constituency today in present of party Ashok Bhagat, Suadgar Saini, Bishan Bharti, Sat Pal Singh, Devi Dayal,Jang Bhadur, Darshan Lal, Darshan Motten,Uttam Singh and others today, Balwan Singh attacked the BJP-led Central Government for allegedly failing to protect people’s jobs and lands in J&K.
Criticizing the Centre, Singh said that without an elected Government, Jammu and its people were being neglected and overlooked. “Today democracy in J&K is facing onslaught from non other than the ruling party itself. Ideally, political and ideological differences should have been put aside while dealing with the sensitive region,” he said.
PCC leader said that there was total chaos and confusion among the people as BJP leadership had failed to remove peoples’ apprehensions.”On one hand, there is complete uncertainty in J&K, while on the other, people are confronting with failure of the administration to solve day today problems,” he said and added that people want change, as BJP has failed on all fronts of governance especially unchecked price rise, record unemployment besides other anti- employees, anti- trade, anti- poor politics.
Former MLA further said that Congress has been on fore front to oppose the anti- people policies being imposed on the people through back door by the bureaucrats Govt, as there is no elected Govt in J&K for three and half years, now the people of different sections are being forced to swallow the bitter pills. Having failed to give employment to highest number of percentage of educated unemployed youth, the Centre Govt and UT Administration are beating about bushes and finding faults in the past Govts.
Terming Congress Party as a dependable political platform for the people of J&K, Ashok Bhagat said assuaging socio-economic and political aspirations of the people and undertaking development on a massive scale holds key to steer J&K to peace and prosperity. He stressed on the urgent demands of the people calling for confidence building political measures that will set in motion a genuine democratic exercise in Jammu and Kashmir.
