JAMMU, Feb 14: DDC Member, Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony criticized the BJP Government at the Centre for depriving the people of Jammu and Kashmir of the basic amenities as the party (BJP) leadership has miserably failed to deliver on its promises made with the people during the previous elections.
He was speaking after starting blacktopping of road at village Motey in border area of Suchetgarh in presence of Sarpanch, Omkar. Besides, the DDC member also started another black-topping works at villages Gharana and Gharani in presence of Sarpanch, Gurdyal Singh Soni.
Tony accused the BJP Government of having plunged Suchetgarh into a dark era of 12 years. He castigated the local BJP leaders for utter failure to address the burning issues of the people of the area.
Reiterating his commitment to work relentlessly for resolving the problems and issues of the people in his constituency, Tony assured to serve the people with much more vigour and enthusiasm in future too. Tony asserted that he will rejuvenate the entire border belt by ensuring state-of-art facilities to the people of his constituency.
The DDC member informed that Rs 18 crore has been sanctioned for development of roads for Suchetgarh constituency under BADP. He assured that the people of border villages that all the roads falling under the constituency would be upgraded in the next three months.
While giving instructions for the works initiated today, the DDC Member stressed on ensuring quality of the work and use of standard material with no delinquency whatsoever. He said that he is very particular about timely completion of projects as any inordinate delay mars the very purpose of the development work besides escalating the cost.
Tony also listened to the demands of the people of the area and assured that he will take up the same with the concerned quarters for early fulfillment.
Later, the DDC member also initiated development work of lane tiling upto Shamshan Ghat at Village Kotli Rayian in Suhetgarh constituency with an estimated cost of Rs 12 lakh. Others who were present include Sarpanch, Manjit Kour, former Sarpanch, Rashpal Singh, Sarpanch, Shashi Bhagat, Sarpanch, Tilak Raj Bhagat, Sarpanch, Sham Lal Bhagat, Naib Sarpanch, Roshan Bhagat and Darshan Choudhary.
