JAMMU July 29: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has expressed great disappointment against the present administration’s hollow promises to develop the Jammu region on modern lines.
This was stated by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial president JKNC Jammu, while addressing a meeting of District Jammu Rural- A unit at party office in Jammu. This meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Raghbir Singh Manhas, District president of JKNC Jammu Rural-A.
During the meeting, Raghbir Singh Manhas raised serious concerns regarding the lack of basic amenities in rural areas and difficulties being faced by the farmers, leading to hardships for the local population. He said problems faced by the public have intensified in absence of popular government in J&K.
Rattan Lal emphasized that the people of the Jammu region have been deprived of essential facilities, forcing them to take to the streets repeatedly to bring attention to their issues. Despite the significant mandate received from the people of Jammu in the 2014 and 2019 elections, the ruling Saffron Party has miserably failed to fulfill the aspirations of unemployed youth and other population, he added.
He said that the recent incessant rains and flash floods have caused extensive losses to the people of Jammu region, particularly farmers in areas like Akhnoor, Khour, Samba, Kathua and RS Pura border belt. But no teams have been constituted to assess these losses and offer support to the affected farmers. He urged the Lt Governor to constitute teams to assess the losses being faced by general public and farmers.
Ajay Sadhotra, a former minister and Central secretary, asserted that the National Conference remains the only viable option for the people of J&K and is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the general public. He said that National Conference continues to work diligently towards addressing the concerns of the people and advocating for their rights and welfare.
Babu Rampal, former minister and Central Zone president, urged party workers to prepare for the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections in the state, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to serving the people.
