BJP exploited public sentiments: Javed Rana

MENDHAR, July 4: Former MLA and senior NC leader Javed Rana today said that BJP led government at the Centre has miserably failed to live up to the expectations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said there was strong resentment among people against the Government as the BJP leadership has failed to fulfil its promises that were made at the time of both Parliamentary and the Assembly elections.
Speaking at a joining programme of the party at Mendhar today, Rana said that there is anger among people. The BJP has played with the sentiments of people who voted them to power. People are not happy with their policies, he said.
“Growing public disenchantment is a reflection of dismal performance of the Central dispensation on all fronts. BJP exploited public sentiment, not only by whipping up passions on religion but also by making hollow promises about development,” he added.
Referring to the unprecedented price rise and record unemployment, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, the senior NC leader said the Modi Government has failed to bring prices under control. “The common man is suffering due to unprecedented price rise of all essential commodities and unreasonable taxes,” he said.
Rana asserted that the impetus generated during the successive National Conference governments in the erstwhile state is totally missing. He said that the Party believes in an inclusive and prosperous J&K that does not discriminate on the basis of religion, caste, class, language or region.
Earlier, prominent social activist and Congress leader Mohammed Shrief Bajjar from Balnoi, Mankote along with their supporters joined the National Conference in presence of Rana at Mendhar.
While welcoming the newly joined members into the party fold, Rana hoped that their joining will strengthen the party base. He asked the newly joined members to make people aware about the pro-people policies of the National Conference.
