Srinagar, July 18: Police have arrested Bhartiya Janta party, District president for Kupwara Mohammad Shafi after a mis-fire incident in which his son was injured.
Shafi’s son Ashfaq Ahmad was injured two days ago when the weapon of his father’s PSO went off accidently. Police have arrested the BJP president in the case.
BJP has suspended Shafi from the party and has sought explanation from him about the mis-fire incident.
The party has also framed a committee, headed by spokesman G A Mir spokesman, and he has been asked to file a report by 25th July.
