BJP discusses COVID situation with JMC Councillors

JAMMU, June12: Discussing the socio-economic conditions due to Corona infection and the ways to improve the situation, Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir held a meeting of its Councillors representing various wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina chaired the meeting, while former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, J&K BJP general secretary (Org.), Ashok Kaul, Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta, general secretary, Sunil Sharma, Deputy Mayor, Adv. Purnima Sharma and Party’s JMC, Chief Whip, Parmod Kapahi also addressed the JMC councillors in the meeting.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the meeting, complimented the JMC councillors for their persistent efforts and dedicated service to the society in the hard period marred with COVID-19 pandemic. He asked the JMC councillors to work in complete liaison with all the departments to improve the situation and at the same time boost development in their respective wards. He asked the councillors to give individual attention to all the basic needs of the public like electricity, drinking water supply etc. in this period, while also assuring them of organizational support in the matter.
Raina, said that Jammu being the Centre point of all the social and economic activities in the region, has the greater responsibility to set up a benchmark for the other Urban Local Bodies to lift the socio-econmic status of living after the COVID crisis is over.
Kavinder Gupta, shared useful tips with the councillors, he asked them to assume the role of a bridge between the public, administration and the party. He also asked them to increase their interaction with the public to know and understand their issues well in this COVID affected period.
Ashok Kaul, prompted the councillors to share their issues with the party senior leadership. He inquired from them about any particular difficulties they have faced while serving the masses at ground level. He also asked them to take stock of the situation that has arisen in past some time after the recent increase in the positive cases in the region.
Chander Mohan Gupta, spoke at length about various issues raised by the councillors regarding public welfare. He also appreciated the concern of councilors in respect to their ward residents.
